Shuo Yang

Ramirez & Yang Co. was formed at the intersection of engineering discipline and hands-on craftsmanship.
Before construction, Yang spent his career as a software engineer, working across startups and enterprise systems. His background includes building construction payment platforms handling billions in monthly transactions overseas, as well as AI research platforms used by senior leaders at major technology companies. The work demanded precision, accountability, and systems thinking at scale.
Construction entered his life in a very different way.

A project that changed everything
In 2020, while working on an ADU and addition to his own home, Yang experienced what many homeowners quietly endure: a contractor took payment and abandoned the project midstream due to unresolved city planning issues.
With no viable alternative, Yang stepped into the role of general contractor—untangling a broken project by guiding decisions, correcting mistakes, and restoring order to a situation that had lost trust and clarity. Through a mutual contact, Yang was introduced to Gonzalo, who partnered as a field supervisor, supporting on-site execution, sequencing, and quality control.
Out of necessity, Yang also became deeply hands-on in the work itself—personally contributing across nearly every trade while delivering three kitchens, two bathrooms, a home addition, an attached ADU, and a garage conversion.
Through this process, Yang gained firsthand experience in construction leadership, jobsite realities, and the critical importance of rigorous planning—learning how design decisions, regulatory constraints, and sequencing directly impact cost, schedule, and build quality.
What began as recovery became education—and, over time, a trusted friendship.
Two disciplines, one standard
Over the following years, Yang continued working across both engineering and physical building, while Gonzalo refined his craft through consistent, detail-driven construction work.
Eventually, the two recognized a shared frustration in the industry — homeowners are often forced to choose between:
Builders who can execute but don’t plan deeply, or
Planners who design well but don’t build with accountability
